AI chat assistant

The chat assistant is the round button in the bottom-right corner of the dashboard. Describe what you want in plain language and it handles the rest — it can read your website, fill in your brand, draft posts from your templates, design new templates from a description and change existing ones, make a template from a TikTok or Instagram carousel link, set up TikTok posting automations, and check on the ones you already have. Chatting costs no credits — each plan includes a monthly allowance of AI chat tokens (see Plans & pricing), and the ring next to the Send button shows how much is left. You only spend credits when a post is generated or you press Make a template on a pasted post link (5 credits).

Opening the chat

  • Click the round chat button bottom-right on the dashboard.
  • Or type into the landing page prompt box — you'll arrive in the dashboard with the message already sent, in a new chat.
  • Or use the empty-canvas composer in a new project's Playground.

Enter sends; Shift+Enter adds a newline. Conversations are saved as threads — the history (clock) button lists past chats, + starts a new one, and hovering a thread reveals a delete button.

The Project chip

The chip above the input is the project the chat acts on, and so the brand it writes for. It is required before the assistant can generate posts, save your brand, or create automations. If none is attached and you give it a link to your site, it creates a project named after your brand (or reuses the project that already has that site). Otherwise it shows a project picker right in the conversation; pick one and it carries on with what you asked.

The brand on the project's Overview tab guides what the assistant writes.

Starting from your website

Paste a link to your app or site — "here's my app: https://example.com, draft some posts". The assistant reads the public pages, builds a brand profile (what the product is, who it is for, the claims the site makes, the tone, the offer), saves it to the project's Overview tab with the site's image, and shows you a brand card. Every claim in the card is marked with the page it came from; anything it could not tell from the site is listed under "couldn't tell", so you can fill the gap in one sentence.

If you start a chat by pasting just the link, that is the whole request: it saves your brand, opens the project's Playground, and starts 3 drafts straight away, or as many as your credit balance covers. Each finished draft lands on the canvas. If there is no project attached yet, the assistant creates one for your brand first. Pasting the same site again reuses that project instead of making a new one. Links to TikTok, Instagram and other social posts are never treated as your site; a TikTok photo carousel or Instagram post link becomes a template instead (see below).

Drafting posts

  • A few drafts at once — "draft 3 posts for it". The assistant plans a distinct angle for each post, picks the template that fits each angle, and shows the plan with its total price and your balance. Nothing is charged until you press Start (or say yes); the campaign card then shows each draft as it finishes. Say "2 more like that" to keep the new drafts on the same template.
  • Post ideas — "give me 5 post ideas". Ideas are answered in the chat for free; ask for posts when you want drafts made from them.
  • One post, your choice of template — "make a carousel about our summer sale". It shows the templates that fit the topic; click Use this template and it generates.

A generation is priced from the template’s distinct designs — 2 credits per AI-generated image and 1 per stock image on those designs. Item slides sharing a design count once, and additional planned item slides do not change the quoted price. The picker shows the exact cost on each template. Templates that are pinned to their original subject, or that feature your product while the project's brand is not set up yet, are left out of the shortlist.

Ask "how do the drafts look?" and the assistant reads the finished slides and tells you what it found. To reword a slide, swap a picture or change anything else in a post, open it with Open in Editor and use ⋮ → Edit with Chat on it (see Changing a post); that is free. For a whole new version of a draft, it first shows that template's price and asks, for example "Redo draft 2 as a new post for 6 credits? Your current one stays.", and makes it only when you press Make it or say yes.

Changing a post

On the Playground, a post's ⋮ menu → Edit with Chat opens the chat with that post attached. Say what to change, for example "change the background on slide 2", "make slide 3 about Notion instead", "fix the typo on slide 4" or "add a slide like slide 2 for Canva". One message can change several slides. The assistant rewrites the text in the post's own style, and finds the pictures: a real stock photo, the exact app icon or logo, an image you attach to the message, or one of your brand images. It never draws a new picture, and when it can't find one it keeps the old picture (an app's missing icon becomes its name) and tells you.

The change lands in the editor as one step you can undo with ⌘Z (click the post first). If the post's project isn't open, the change waits until you open it; if you edit the post yourself while the assistant is working, it asks before replacing your edits. Later messages in the same chat keep changing the same post. Changing posts is free, up to 60 changes an hour. A post holds at most 10 slides, and video posts can't be changed from the chat.

Designing a template

Describe the carousel you want and the assistant designs a template from it — for example "first slide is a hook like 'top 5 marketing tools', then one slide per tool with its logo and two lists, Pros and Cons". It lays out the slides, decides which one repeats once per item, styles the text the way TikTok slideshows do, and adds an image box wherever a picture belongs, each with a preview picture. If you only say you want a template, it asks one question about what the slides should show.

Drag images into the chat, or click Add images, then describe how to use them. You can attach up to 10 images per message, each up to 10 MB. The numbered thumbnails match references such as “Image 1” and “Image 2”; remove any unwanted images before sending. Uploads stay available in the saved conversation.

For example: "Create a three-slide template using these images full-screen, one per slide in this order. Keep the images unchanged between posts, but write new captions for each post." The template uses your uploaded images directly and keeps that slide sequence when generating posts. The captions can still change. If you want new AI variations instead, explicitly ask to use an image as a reference.

The template is saved to your Templates library, and to the attached project's Templates tab when a project is attached (you don't need one). The chat shows it with two buttons:

  • Edit template opens it in the template editor to adjust anything.
  • Make a post generates a post from it, like picking any other template.

It knows the common formats: a hook and one slide per item, a split screen with a caption on each half, a before and after, this or that. When the same person or character should appear in several pictures (both halves of a split screen, the before and after of one person, a mascot on every slide), every post made from the template keeps them the same. Use the Influencer selector in the template editor to choose one of your existing influencers for the character images across those slides.

Templates are drawn in TikTok Sans with solid colors and square pictures; when you ask for something they can't do, like a gradient or a script font, the assistant uses the closest look and tells you what it changed. Ask for a slide about your own product ("end with a slide for our app") and posts draw it from your brand's product photo, so posting from that template needs your brand set up on the project's Overview tab.

Designing a template is free, up to 20 an hour; posts made from it are priced like any other post. If some image boxes come back without a preview, the editor can fill them. To change it, tell the chat what to change (below) or open it in the editor; ask for a new template only when you want a different design.

Making a template from a post

Paste a link to a TikTok photo carousel or an Instagram post and the assistant offers to copy it into a template, with a Make a template · 5 credits button. Nothing is charged until you press it. The template is then made in the background — about two minutes, and you can close the chat or switch tabs — and the card shows its progress, then the finished template with Edit template and Make a post. It is saved to your Templates (and the attached project's Templates tab) with the same defaults the Templates importer uses; ask the chat for changes, like "change the hook to …", or open it in the editor. If the import fails, the 5 credits are refunded; a post already in your Templates is used as it is, free. Send one link at a time; TikTok videos, Reels and profiles can't become templates.

Editing a template

Tell the assistant what to change and it changes the template and saves it — "make the headline bigger", "add a closing slide with our link", "white background with black text", "swap the photo on slide 2 for a beach", "remove the last slide", "make it 9:16". A card shows the updated slides with the same Edit template and Make a post buttons.

Which template it changes:

  • The one you're working on — the template the chat just designed or last changed.
  • One from your library — choose Edit with AI on a template's menu or in its preview on the Templates page (the chat opens with it attached), or pick it with Template above the chat input, then type the change.
  • By name — "in my pros and cons template, make the logos bigger". The assistant looks it up and asks which one if several match.

Only what you ask for changes. Boxes you didn't mention keep their text, styling and preview pictures; a design that repeats (every item slide) changes on all its slides unless you name one. Editing a shared template saves your own copy, named like the original with "(copy)" after it, and leaves the original as it was. Changes to your own template apply to future posts, including those of automations using it; when you edit a shared template, automations keep using the original until you switch them to your copy. When a change adds or removes images and so changes the price per post, the assistant says so. Editing in chat is free, up to 60 changes an hour.

Saving your brand

Tell the assistant about your brand ("we make a budgeting app for couples") and it saves that to the attached project's Overview tab, confirmed with a green Saved card. Give it a website link instead and it fills everything in from the site. See Project overview for what it unlocks.

Setting up an automation

The assistant configures a full TikTok posting automation conversationally, and nothing is created until you approve it:

  1. Say "set up automated posting" — or describe it in one go: "post Viral Garden tips on weekdays at 9am, stop after 20 posts".
  2. Tell it the topic and a name if it asks.
  3. Pick one or more templates in the selection card and click Use templates. Templates that feature your product need the project's brand set up on its Overview tab first.
  4. Give it the days, the times (at most 5 per day), and whether it should run ongoing or stop after a number of posts.
  5. Review the proposal card: the schedule in your own timezone, the account it will post to, the first publish time, the credit cost per post and for the first batch, and your balance. Click Activate (or just say "yes") to create it.
  6. On the created card, click Connect TikTok if your account isn't linked yet.

The automation starts generating posts immediately; publishing begins once TikTok is connected. Full details in Automations. The assistant sets up TikTok automations only and can't post to YouTube or Instagram for you: create a YouTube or Instagram automation from the Automations tab, or post by hand from the post's ⋮ menu → Direct Post or Schedule Post (see Post to YouTube and Post to Instagram).

Managing automations from chat

  • "What automations do I have?" — lists them with status, schedule, queue counts and the next scheduled post.
  • "Why didn't it post?" — checks the automation and explains: TikTok not connected, an expired connection, not enough credits, failed posts, or a schedule problem.
  • "Pause the Monday one", "resume it", "move it to 6pm" — pauses, resumes or reschedules, and confirms what changed. The assistant only changes an automation when you ask it to.

Account questions

Ask about your plan, balance or connected accounts — "which plan am I on?", "how many credits do I have left?" — and the assistant answers from your account rather than guessing. Questions about how the app works are answered from these docs.

Good to know

The more details, the better

The assistant works from what you tell it, the brand on your project's Overview tab, and your website. Mentioning your audience, tone, and what makes your product different noticeably improves the copy it writes.

  • The assistant keeps the working context of a thread — the drafts, the automation being set up — even after you reload or come back later. Only the last 20 messages of the transcript are re-read each turn (fewer when they are long), so restate a detail if a long conversation drifts.
  • You can attach images to a message for a template to use (see above); everything else the assistant knows comes from the Project chip, its brand, and your website link.
  • Closing the chat mid-generation is safe — generation continues in the background and the result is there when you reopen the thread.
  • The chat handles setup, creation and checks, and can design or change a template; to edit a finished post, use the editor.
