On a paid plan, Viral Garden can publish a carousel to a YouTube channel you own. Your slides become a silent vertical video — a YouTube Short — and upload straight to the channel, by hand from the Playground or on a schedule from an automation.
Who can use it
Publishing to YouTube is included on every paid plan. TikTok accounts, YouTube channels and Instagram accounts share your plan's account allowance (Starter 3, Spark 15, Scale 30), counted across all your projects. The Free plan can't connect a channel. See Plans & pricing.
The plan is checked when you connect. A channel you connected on a paid plan stays connected and keeps posting if you move to Free, as long as it keeps posting: after 29 days without an upload it is removed, and connecting it again needs a paid plan.
Connect a channel
- Open the project's Accounts tab and click Add account → YouTube.
- Google's consent screen opens. Pick the channel's Google account and allow access. Viral Garden asks for two things: uploading videos to your channel, and read-only access to your channel's name and picture and to the status of videos it uploaded.
- The channel appears on the Accounts tab as Connected.
If your browser blocks the popup, the flow falls back to a full-page redirect that returns you to the Accounts tab. If the channel's link stops working (for example, you revoked access at Google, or it went 29 days without an upload), Viral Garden removes it and the row shows Not connected — click Connect to link it again.
Publish a carousel
- On the Playground, click the post's ⋮ menu → Direct Post and pick your YouTube channel. (To post it later instead, use Schedule Post: see Schedule a post.)
- Write a Title (up to 100 characters) and an optional Description.
- Choose the Visibility — Private (the default), Unlisted, or Public.
- Click Publish.
When the upload finishes, the dialog links to the video on YouTube. YouTube can set a different visibility than the one you asked for (for example, it can restrict a video); when it does, the dialog tells you what YouTube actually set, and YouTube Studio shows why.
Only carousels can go to YouTube. Video posts on the Playground publish to TikTok only.
What gets uploaded
- A silent 1080 × 1920 vertical video — the shape of a YouTube Short. Each slide sits centred over a blurred copy of itself, so nothing is cropped.
- About 2.5 seconds per slide (a 10-slide carousel runs 25 seconds). A video never runs longer than 60 seconds; longer carousels share the 60 seconds.
- Publishing costs no credits.
Limits
- 10 YouTube uploads per day per user (a rolling 24 hours), counting uploads by hand and from automations together.
- YouTube also caps how many videos Viral Garden can upload each day across all users. If that cap is reached, a manual upload says so and posts nothing; a scheduled post waits and tries again after midnight Pacific time.
Post on a schedule
An automation can post to a YouTube channel instead of a TikTok account: on the Automations tab, click New Automation and pick the channel in the Account step. You choose the visibility and whether the videos are made for kids once, for every post. Each Short's title is the caption's first line (without hashtags), and the caption is the description. YouTube automations publish directly — there is no draft mode — and post carousels only. See Automations.
The AI chat can't start a YouTube upload or create a YouTube automation for you — use the Post dialog or the automation wizard.
Disconnect a channel
- On the project's Accounts tab: the channel's ⋮ → Remove.
- Or click Disconnect in the Publish to YouTube dialog.
Either one revokes Viral Garden's access at Google and deletes the stored connection and its upload history. Videos already on YouTube stay on your channel — manage or delete them in YouTube. Automations that posted to the channel are paused, not deleted, with their queued posts; select another account in the automation's settings to resume.
You can also revoke access yourself from your Google account permissions page. Viral Garden checks connections daily, deletes upload records after 29 days, and removes a connection that has had no link or upload attempt for 29 days — connect it again when you next want to post (on a paid plan, with room in its account allowance).
