Publishing
Post to TikTok
Once a TikTok account is connected, any post on the canvas can be published as a TikTok photo carousel straight from the editor.
Publishing a post
- On the Playground, click the post's ⋮ menu → Direct Post and pick your TikTok account. (To post it later instead, use Schedule Post: see Schedule a post.) Your TikTok avatar and @username load at the top of the dialog.
- Write a Caption (up to 2,200 characters).
- If the post has multiple slides, pick a Cover image.
- Choose Who can view this post — the options (Public, Followers, Only me) come from your TikTok account settings.
- Optionally allow Comments (off by default).
- If the post is commercial, turn on Disclose photo content and check Your brand (labels it Promotional content) and/or Branded content (labels it Paid partnership).
- Click one of the two publish buttons:
- Publish — the carousel goes live on your profile immediately.
- Save as draft — the carousel is sent to your TikTok inbox; open the TikTok app to finish and post it there.
The dialog shows progress (Rendering images → Uploading → Sending to TikTok → Publishing) and confirms with Published to TikTok! or a note that the draft is waiting in your TikTok inbox.
TikTok's rules, enforced for you
The dialog mirrors TikTok's own posting rules so nothing bounces after upload:
- Branded content can't be private — selecting Branded content disables the Only me privacy option, and vice versa.
- Turning on disclosure without picking Your brand or Branded content blocks publishing until you choose.
- Disclosure labels are permanent once posted — TikTok doesn't allow changing them afterward.
- Music is added automatically by TikTok for photo posts.
Limits
| Limit | Value |
|---|---|
| Images per post | 35 (a canvas post holds at most 10 slides, so you're always within it) |
| Image width | Rendered at up to 1080 px — TikTok's maximum for photos |
| Caption | 2,200 characters in the dialog |
Seeing only "Only me"?
If the privacy dropdown offers nothing but Only me, TikTok is restricting the connected account's posting options (common for new or private accounts). Post as a draft instead, or adjust the account's settings in TikTok.
Published posts appear in Analytics with live view, like, comment, and share counts.
